Brian Cabrey is an experienced attorney and child advocate who has been practicing law in Florida for over 30 years, and represented countless children and parents, many of them pro bono. He has been involved in landmark civil rights litigation and multiple other high profile cases on behalf of children in state care, and was formerly a senior attorney with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Mr. Cabrey has been recognized as one of "Florida's Legal Elite" by Florida Trend Magazine, and was formerly vice-president of Florida's Children First, president of the Catholic Lawyers Guild for the Diocese of St. Augustine, and chair of multiple sections and committees of the Jacksonville Bar Association dealing with children's issues. Mr. Cabrey has been recognized for his work on behalf of children by the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program, Florida's Children First, and is recognized annually by the Jacksonville Bar Association for his pro bono legal service to children.

Mr. Cabrey earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He holds a Juris Doctor law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mr. Cabrey is admitted in Florida to practice in all state courts. He has also been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Cabrey was previously a certified county court mediator in Duval County. He has been published and is a sought-after presenter for continuing legal education.

October 27, 2008 with Mike Dunlavy, Jesse Wilson, and Justin Taylor, all of Florida Youth Shine, at Jacksonville City Hall for Proclamation of October 21st as Foster Child Day, the first, and to date only, such proclamation in the nation.
